About Martinez auto works

Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 9 am–6 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (512) 945-7788. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.

Customers rate it 4.9 out of 5 on Google across 27 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded auto machine shops in Austin.

Austin is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Austin is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

My husband’s car needed new wheel bearings. They were able to get it done within a few hours and at a very good price. Will be coming back for any future car issues/repairs.

The other reviews are accurate. They do very good work. I needed an intake manifold replaced. I called and they told me to come in Saturday; Saturday morning I come in and they were able to fix it same day! It was much more affordable than what another shop quoted me, and they got it done in only 4 hours when the other shop said it would take all day. Additionally, they didn't just assume the manifold was bad, they checked to see if maybe it was just the gaskets, unfortunately it was both and they sent pics to show and asked if I was ok with ordering the part. There's a lot of parts that have to come off first before replacing the manifold so doing all that plus obtaining the part is honestly pretty amazing. I highly recommend!!

Run by good people and we couldn’t be happier with their business. Honest people who love what they do and here to HELP you. I can’t say how grateful we are to find these guys and be treated fairly ( as women we personally have no clue) and have the issue resolved. They even checked back to see how everything was going! We know we are in good hands if we ever need help again!

First time at Martinez and it was a 10/10 experience. Their staff is very knowledgeable at what they do and aren’t trying to over charge you for a simple service. They take their time in explaining the issue to you as well as going the extra mile to ensure your vehicle is in tip top shape before leaving. I came in 30 minutes before closing for an alternator installation. Most companies would make you leave, but the staff at Martinez was very accommodating. They took me in and took care of the car. Went as far as fixing issues caused by another mechanic for free! Also thoroughly explained the issue and I left there with confidence! The shopping center next door is a great way to spend time while your car is being serviced. Martinez Auto finished in a timely manner and made sure I was satisfied before I leave. They’ve earned a for-life customer!!
